Fifty years ago, U.S. astronauts set foot on the moon, and brought along the Omega Speedmaster, then and forever dubbed the moon watch. This is the 1985 version of that watch, in excellent condition. It is one of the most celebrated watches on this planet -- and on the moon.
The jet-black dial, dark as the other side of the moon, is in excellent condition, with the markers taking on a creamy patina.
The stainless steel case is a hefty 42mm across, not counting the signed crown. This is model 145.022, carrying the serial of 48286---, which places it in a range from the late 1980s to the early 90s.
The caliber 861 workhorse movement keeps excellent time. The Omega-signed crystal is also in terrific shape. The original 1479 steel bracelet is in good condition and will fit a 7.5 inch wrist easily.
Comes with inner and outer boxes, instruction manual, owner registry card and warranty card holder (but no warranty card).
