Here's a Hamilton space age icon: The 1968 Odyssee 2001, introduced as part of the run-up to Stanley Kubrick's landmark movie, "2001, A Space Odyssey."
Check out the asymmetric "flying saucer" case, in solid stainless steel...the slashing hands...two-tone black-and-silver dial in excellent condition...the date porthole at the 6...
The watch comes with an NSA Hamilton-signed bracelet. Very, very rare! It will fit a 7.5 inch wrist.
The watch is a wearable 37mm, excluding the signed, recessed Hamilton crown.
There are some light scratches and dings on the case, as befits a watch of this age. The crystal also has some light scratches, including one around the 9 marker, as photos show.
But nothing...nothing... to detract from the immense appeal of this classic.
The automatic movement keeps excellent time. The crown is a bit stiff to turn.
Here's a vintage watch that rivets the eye. In the 1950s and 1960s Hamilton astonished the watch world, and everyone else, with futuristic designs.
