Here's a vintage 1960s Certina DS-2 SuperPH 500m...a long name for one of the rarest and most sought-after divers in the world today.
Check out the jet-black dial with sword hour hand and matching chunky markers. Absolutely perfect.
This is a heavy slab of steel, 43mm across, excluding the signed screw-down crown...by a massive 48mm from lug to lug. The solid stainless steel case is excellent, only a few light scratches or dings throughout; nothing major, nothing to diminish the extraordinary appeal of this behemoth.
The screw down crown is a work of art, its spring still strong so that you must press it down to ratchet it forward.
The 25-jewel automatic movement keeps flawless time, as you'd expect.
These Certinas have history: They were used by scientists and divers on the famous Tektite underwater project in 1969 and 1970. That's one reason collectors seek it. The other? Well, just look at it.
